WHAT TO BRING - Please bring a packed lunch. If you would like to bring your own basic sewing kit to use if you have one available, please do so, but it's not absolutely essential.
SKILL LEVEL - Beginners are most welcome. Many of the projects involve hand sewing using fabric and felt. Some require the use of a sewing machine, which will be set up in readiness and prior knowledge would be useful. This is not a tuition led class however, so do bear that in mind, although I will be on hand throughout to help with your projects, thread needles and demonstrate techniques where needed.
WHAT TO EXPECT - Wear your favourite Christmas jumper and join us for the Sweet Williams Festive Sewing Party! Goodie bags will be given out on arrival. It has been 5 whole years since we last hosted this event, and we are bringing it back in style in our current shop. The party will take place in our workshop, above our shop. Please note that there are two short flights of stairs (8 steps on each flight) to navigate. Toilets are situated on the ground floor level.
There will be a wealth of mini sewing projects to do. Please note, as this is not a tuition led class, it is more of a free style event where you can pick and choose however many sewing projects you like from the samples shown, using your own interpretation and creative flair of which there will be plenty of templates provided. Or why not make up your own projects using the supplies available on the day. I will of course be on hand to help if needed. There will be plenty of fabric, felt, trims, buttons etc to choose from to create items such as Christmas ornaments, hearts, lavender bags, mini bunting etc. Make as many as you want in the time allocated. There will be a couple of sewing machines and an iron/board set up to use also.
Help yourself to tea, coffee, pink lemonade, mince pies and other sweet treats on offer. Festive music will be played throughout.
During your visit you will have exclusive use of our full store to shop and make any purchases at the end of the workshop should you wish to do so. There will be 10% off all products for ticket holders, excluding artwork and jewellery.
